Diabetes Management
Anyone newly diagnosed with diabetes or in need of help in managing the disease is welcome. The four-week class series begins the first week of each month.

DIABETES MANAGEMENT CLASS DESCRIPTION
Eight hours of instruction are offered every month. Classes meet once a week for two hours for four weeks. 1. What is Diabetes? 2. Learning to Live with Diabetes 3. The Basics of Eating 4. MEET OUR TEAM
Rebecca L Fowler, MS, RD, CDE is the Director of the Diabetes Clinic and has been teaching diabetes education for the past 13 years. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator and Registered and Licensed Dietitian. She received her Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition/Biochemistry from Oregon State University.
Susan Meyerott, MS works as the Staff Educator for Ashland Community Hospital and is an exercise physiologist. She provides education about exercising safely and successfully with diabetes.
Ken Bonsi, Pharm.D. is a staff pharmacist who has practiced hospital pharmacy in the Rogue Valley for 29 years. He is certified by the American Association of Diabetes Educators and American Pharmacological Association. Ken provides tools for both patients and family members to maximize the positive aspects of drug therapies. His philosophy is to treat each patient and family individually. He is a good listener and coaches and guides each patient by adapting their needs to current diabetes management tools. Ken's goal is to help patients and their families become active participants in their healthcare decisions, rather than victims of the disease.
Syl Zucker, MSW is a medical social worker who has worked in diabetes education for eight years. She currently works for Rogue Valley Medical Center, Three Rivers Hospital and Ashland Community Hospital offering education on the social and emotional aspects of living with diabetes. Syl also serves on the Diabetes Education Care Center Advisory Boards of both Asante and Ashland Community Hospital.
Linda McGwire, RN, BSN, CDE. Linda has been a nurse for 26 years and has been a certified Diabetes Educator nurse for over 15 years. Linda is also a Home Health Nurse and educates patients about diabetes management, in their homes. Linda's goals are to empower patients with the ability to manage their diabetes and promote their well being.
