Birth Center
Have Your Baby the Way You've Always Dreamed
Oregon's first hospital-based alternative birth center, offers a private, home-like environment and a sensitive, choice-oriented staff. Beautifully decorated private rooms feature a state-of-the-art birthing bed, entertainment center, refrigerator, bay window seat, and other comfortable touches. We maintain a good balance between high technology and high touch, incorporating current equipment with a wide variety of personal choices.
Philosophy
For over 20 years, we have helped mothers bring their babies into the world gently and lovingly, using the latest birthing techniques, focusing on the mother's needs, and allowing for personal choice throughout delivery. Our philosophy focuses on family-centered care. We believe birth is a natural, healthy process and we welcome the involvement of family, friends and loved ones.
Birthing Choices
We encourage personal choice and freedom of movement during labor. We offer the longest period of quiet bonding time available...even babies delivered by cesarean section can join mothers in the recovery room. We also honor your own detailed Birth Plan, because we know it communicates your personal wishes regarding birth environment, procedures, pain relief, and how your baby is welcomed into the world. For the safety of mother and child, our Birth Center operates on the leading edge of technology, keeping pace with the latest innovations and trends in childbirth, including current techniques such as ultrasound. We also have the services of a maternal/fetal medicine specialist available when unusual birth circumstances require them.
Personalized Attention
Our outstanding Birth Center nurses provide quality, personalized attention. Their expertise in labor and delivery, childbirth education, lactation consultation and neonatal emergency care, as well as post-partum care, has helped thousands of families with newborns get off to a good start. The entire Birth Center staff is committed to giving your family a positive birth experience, one that ensures a smooth transition in bringing the baby into the family. We especially enjoy helping first-time parents work together through labor, delivery and the first few days as a new family.
