Hyperbaric Medicine
The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine opened in September, 2006. We serve patients with chronic, non-healing wounds with various advanced techniques including the KVAC system and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy provides 100% pure oxygen within a pressurized chamber; the air we normally breath is 21% oxygen. HBOT is pure oxygen that is inhaled at greater than normal atmospheric pressure. Breathing pure oxygen increases the level of oxygen in the blood stream, promoting wound healing by stimulating new vascular growth. This facilitates the normal wound-healing process and aids the preservation of damaged tissue.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy(HBOT) plays an important role in the treatment of acute and traumatic wounds such as necrotizing fascititis(flesh eating bacteria), clostridial myonecrosis(gas gangrene), crush injuries and surgical complications.
